About our Project

The theme of Roots of Europe project reflects the needs arising from the curricula of the involved partner schools and kindergartens. Now days' time brings possibilities of migration more and more, the borders become erased or they deepens. Everyday culture is increasingly link to digital development and trends in society, at the same time the tendency towards respect and knowledge of its roots and acceptance is deepening. We recognize a reduced interest in our own cultural past and traditional customs.

We are aware the past influences the present, our daily lives and values. With partner schools, we want to indulge an interest for our own roots and traditions, find the similarities and differences of a particular culture in the common European area and to raise awareness of common European values (non-discrimination, equity, solidarity and social inclusion)

In all institutions, we perceive more and more families and children who are coming from different cultural backgrounds. Because of this, children and adults (educators and parents) are increasingly face with differences. Members of families who try to get involved in the new environment face a wide range of problems (ignorance of language, social networks, problems with integration into the environment, different customs, diets ...).

Through the activities of this project, we would get new knowledge and experiences on strategies for integrating families with different cultural and social backgrounds into the educational program, also solutions for the problems they face and get successful innovative methods for solving them. Every family and its culture have different power, only they need to know them.

We want to be aware of diversity preciousness fact. Very important for all of us is that while we are learning about other cultures that we keep of our own culture knowledge.

With selected contents that can be integrate into everyday life of kindergarten/school we would like to increase the interest and courage for international project cooperation. We are aware that the educator / teacher of today is not only an explanatory of scientific knowledge, but "teaches" children about the world and its values around them. At the same timework in the project will have an impact on greater awareness, overcoming stereotypes, better understanding of social, ethnic, linguistic and cultural diversity and positive response to it.

The starting point of the project is to encourage parents and children to increase their interest in their own cultural heritage, to learn about the cultural differences to accept differences of kindergartens/ schools involved children.
